You already know about the Groundwork Organizer Grants that we bring to our partner states, but did you know there is another way that we send resources to organizations on the ground that we can’t wait to support? That’s right, on top of our larger partner grants, Groundwork Project is sending mini-grants up to $2,000 to organizers in our states who we know could use extra support, every single month.

We know the budget crunch that comes with organizing in under-resourced communities and that a small influx of cash can translate into something transformative: a major community event, a critical GOTV canvass, an innovative organizer training, some needed new technology, and much, much more. That’s why we created our mini-grant program.

Can you help us raise another $6,000 so we can send out our next round of mini-grants? Donate now!

To celebrate Pride and Immigrant Heritage month, last week we sent out two new mini-grants to organizers tackling some not-so-mini missions.

Based in West Virginia, Greenbrier Valley Pride creates safe spaces for LGBTQI+ individuals through hosting events and meet-ups to grow community in the Greenbrier Valley area. They are dedicated to fighting for and preserving LGBTQI+ rights all while promoting the message, “Love is love is love and all people deserve dignity and respect.”

In Mississippi, the Queer and Trans Justice Project at Immigrant Alliance for Justice and Equity needed more funding this month to host a queerceañera, combatting the inherent erasure of queer, trans and gender nonconforming people in traditional Latinx celebrations. They hope to not only shine a light and uplift the southern LGBTQI+ Latinx and Indigenous communities, they are also pushing back against the stigmas surrounding LGBTQI+ and HIV head-on.

Both of these amazing organizations were really fighting to secure funding for these critical programs. This is why our mini-grants are so important – they allow us to quickly funnel resources into our regions and communities of focus to help meet immediate needs. The application process is quick and easy, and we make decisions right away so organizers know if funds are coming.

Ready to support more hyperlocal organizations and leaders doing incredible work? Help us reach our $6,000 goal and donate now.

Thank you, as always.
