November’s midterm elections might seem far away, but the next five months will go by in the blink of an eye. Now is the time to build up our resources to defeat Republicans who are intent on rolling back our progress.

Trump last paid a visit to our state in April when he came to Selma to support Republican candidates running in the May 17 primary election. And the troubling news, is that most of the candidates Trump backed won.

All of the progress we’ve made on behalf of North Carolina families – from our work on climate change to the protection of reproductive freedoms – is on the line this November and beyond. If given the chance, Trump and his GOP allies will surely do, and spend, whatever it takes to undo any of our wins for the people of our state.

So we must be prepared to fight back. It’s going to take a lot of resources to combat all of the lies and attacks that will undoubtedly come out of Trump’s visit next month. We have to prepare now so we can be ready.
