AG Nessel Reacts to MSC Nassar Appeal Denial

LANSING ? Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel issued the following statement in response to a Friday order from the Michigan Supreme Court denying Larry Nassar?s application for leave to appeal, which exhausted his remaining appeal opportunity:?

?We know it is never easy for the survivors to see this man?s name back in headlines; it is our sincere hope this development marks the closure so many were still waiting for. His sentence has been upheld on multiple occasions now, and this denial only confirms his remaining years will be spent behind bars. We remain indebted to the brave voices that ultimately put him there.?

?I wish to again thank our dedicated team that oversaw the prosecution, sentencing and appeals. The Department of Attorney General remains committed to securing ? and upholding ? justice for survivors of abuse.??
