I’m Dr. Kermit Jones, and I’m running to represent California’s 3rd District in Congress, which includes Lake Tahoe, and parts of the Sierras and Sacramento suburbs.

I’ve served in Iraq and on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Navy and as a physician, I’ve seen how our politicians have made life harder for everyday Americans.

I’ve treated over 20,000 patients in my career and each day I carry their stories with me. Patients who have to choose between paying for prescription drugs and paying rent. Cancer patients, like my mom, who have to sell their family business to afford treatment. Children on ventilators because elected officials lied about the dangers of COVID. I’m running for these families.

My campaign has already been endorsed by pro-science groups like 314 Action Fund, veterans’ groups like VoteVets and New Politics, and organizations dedicated to electing the Black leaders of tomorrow, like Collective PAC and the Congressional Black Caucus PAC.

Our campaign is catching voter’s attention — but it’s also caught the eye of the GOP.

Trump promised Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy that he’s going to help the GOP take back the House, and together they’ve already raised hundreds of thousands to hold this seat.

The good news is California’s new maps just made this district 8 points more Democratic, so our chances at flipping this seat are better than ever.

This is going to be a tough battle, but I’m used to those — and this one is worth it. As the Navy saying goes, “non sibi sed patriae: not self, but country.”
