Friend, I’ll get right to the point: Today is Giving Tuesday, the single most important fundraising day of the year for GLAAD. We are living through one of the most precarious moments in LGBTQ history. We have an administration that has attacked LGBTQ people more than 100 times, a Supreme Court that could eradicate our most dearly held progress like marriage equality, and state and local legislatures that are outright attacking our civil rights. What happens in 2020 could set the course for decades of progress -- or decades of fighting back to undo even more damage. We are working toward a society where no LGBTQ person can be fired simply for being who they are. Where every person can feel safe in public spaces like bathrooms. Where kids and teens are free to express themselves without fear of bullying, violence, or dangerous anti-gay conversion therapy. Where loving couples can adopt children and make new families. Where everyone can openly and freely be with the person they love. We at GLAAD believe in this vision, friend. We believe in it so strongly that we’ve dedicated our careers and our lives to making it a reality, and we can never express how grateful we are to have you with us in this movement.
