John, the January 6 hearings are revealing how close Donald Trump was to overturning the election.

The Washington Post reports that on January 3rd, just three days before Congress was set to certify the 2020 presidential results, Donald Trump met with a Justice Department official named Jeffrey Clark.

Clark “outlined a plan in a letter he wanted to send to the leaders of key states Joe Biden won” — saying the Justice Department had “identified significant concerns” and that the states should consider sending “a separate slate of electors supporting Donald J. Trump.”

Clark agreed he would send the letter if Trump appointed him to be Attorney General.

Trump and his allies entertained a possible strategy to overturn the elections for nearly 3 hours. Trump — along with Senators like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz — fanned the flames for the January 6 riots that nearly upended our democracy by pushing the Big Lie.

Make no mistake: Donald Trump tried to weaponize the U.S. Justice Department to hand himself another term. Yet Republicans STILL refuse to tell the truth about what happened on January 6.

Now, as he prepares to run again in 2024, Trump is trying to pack the Senate with loyal, far-right allies. He’s already endorsed NINETEEN Senate candidates this year — including Herschel Walker in Georgia and Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania. We need to fight back immediately.

The truth must come out. We cannot let Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans sabotage the work to investigate into Trump’s role on January 6 or worse yet, retake the majority. Quickly, rush in a donation to help keep the Senate in Democratic hands.
