Health Policy Events
Join us this summer for a series of 50-minute workshops to help existing and aspiring authors along the Health Affairs journey of publishing, exhibiting and promoting their work.

The summer sessions will be open to Health Affairs Insiders only.

Our first session will feature Health Affairs Executive Editor Don Metz, who will share tips on topics including writing a standout request for abstracts, navigating the review and editing processes, and preparing new and revised submissions, and will answer other FAQs.

Later this summer, we'll announce dates for upcoming professional development events, including those listed below.

Capturing the "Forefront"

Health Affairs Forefront, formerly Health Affairs blog, offers readers the latest high value health policy news, commentary, and analysis.

This session with Health Affairs Deputy Editor Rob Lott and Forefront Editor Chris Fleming will cover the evolution of Forefront, the types of content that attract the most attention, and strategies for making submissions accessible to a non-expert audience.

Criticism is Critical: Introduction To Peer Review

Trusted peer reviewers are the backbone of policy journals like Health Affairs.

This session will look at the qualities we seek in reviewers, what is asked of those who agree to contribute, and the benefits of reviewing for not only your personal professional growth, but the future of scholarly publishing.

Data Through Design: Conceptualizing Your Data For Impactful Exhibits

Health Affairs Design Director Julia Vivalo will share strategies for translating intricate data results into eye-catching, understandable exhibits to underscore your policy conclusions.

Beginning this month, exclusive access to our virtual Lunch and Learn, Professional Development, and Journal Club events will be limited to Health Affairs Insiders.

Theme issue briefings, which are held alongside the launch of a monthly issue on a dedicated topic, and Policy Spotlights will continue to be available for all to attend, as well as some exceptions to the Insider-only events.
