2019 has been our best year yet! From our Muslim Voter Turnout Report to hosting the ISNA Presidential Forum, Emgage has grown because of the help of advocates like you! This Giving Tuesday, we are asking for you to contribute $50 to help us continue to build more success for Muslim American voters like you!
So far in 2019 we have successfully:
- Helped increase Muslim voter turnout by 25 percentage points in four key states (Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and Virginia) with our data driven GOTV campaign. Emgage is the nation’s largest nonprofit focused on increasing Muslim American voter participation. Check out our full report!
- Hosted the first ever Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Presidential Forum - which brought Presidential Candidates Bernie Sander and Julian Castro before the largest gathering of Muslim Americans in North America.
- Pushed for a Muslim Ban Congressional Hearing, which finally occured of September 24, 2019.
- Helped 30+ candidates - 26 Muslim Americans - secure their victories during the 2019 General Elections primarily in Virginia and Pennsylvania with our GOTV campaign. Emgage also played an integral part in helping elect the first Muslim woman to the Virginia State Senate, Ghazala Hashmi, the youngest elected official in Virginia, Abrar Omeish, and the first Muslim woman as Commonwealth Attorney, Buta Biberaj.
- Helped the 'Uyghur Human Rights Act' pass through the Senate. We are now pushing to pass the Bill through the House and push for a U.S. boycott on the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
We are now seen as experts for issues that impact Muslim Americans. Here are some excerpts of Emgage in the Media:
- Huffington Post- Emgage report demonstrates a boost in Muslim voter turnout
- The Guardian, Religion News Service, Houston Chronicle, and Daily Beast - Emgage hosts first Presidential Candidate forum at ISNA
- Religion News Service and Huffington Post - Emgage and partner organizations influenced a Congressional Muslim Ban hearing
- Public Radia International - Emgage's GOTV strategy was a key contributor to elect 26 Muslim American candidates into office
- Huffington Post and Stepfeed - Emgage is calling for U.S. Boycott of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Our ask: For this #givingtuesday, we are getting closer to our goal of $5,000 in contributions, but we're not there yet. Will you make a $50 donation to help us continue our work? Every dollar will help us expand our work going into a key election year. Please help us make sure your voice is heard, donate today!
In solidarity,
Wa'el Alzayat
