My top three priorities are water, water, and water. Rural Colorado’s water supply must be expanded, especially during times of drought. I enthusiastically support the San Luis Valley’s joint Water Conservancy District’s grant application seeking assistance to improve 566 water storage and delivery projects.

I’ve been working hard on water issues, including:

• Advocating for the San Luis Valley and successfully helping defeat plans to steal seven billion gallons of water per year and pump it to the Denver suburbs.
• Introducing the Western Water Security Act, legislation that protects private water rights, defends against federal water grabs, and upholds state water law.
• Introducing the 30x30 Termination Act to prevent federal water grabs.
• Advocating for more water storage projects throughout the West and to protect and preserve existing water storage projects that Democrats are trying to tear down.
• Fighting federal bureaucracy to get the San Luis Valley weather radar online to improve precipitation forecasting for local water districts.
• Defending private water rights from Biden’s attempt to reinstate the controversial Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.
• Supporting efforts to remove noxious weeds that waste 200 gallons of water per day per plant and harm rural farmers.

Radical leftists proposed moving the terrorists in GITMO to prisons in Colorado. I introduced the No Transferring GITMO Terrorists to America Act to prevent Biden from building a new facility on American soil to replace the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and prevent Biden from transferring or releasing known terrorists at Guantanamo into the United States.

Biden advocated for closing GITMO when he was Vice President, and now, four members of the Taliban that were released when Biden was Vice President are leading the Afghanistan terrorist regime as the director of intelligence, the deputy defense minister, the minister of borders and tribal affairs, and the minister of information and culture. 

Biden’s foreign policy is a record of failures, and we do not need to add moving terrorists to Colorado to that list!

I am grateful to local officials for working with me in a bipartisan manner on the South Bridge Project in Glenwood Springs. This project will provide an evacuation route for a wildfire or other natural disaster and will reduce congestion along I-70. I sent a letter of congressional support advocating for this project, and I hope we can deliver some results soon!

In May, I hosted Glenwood Springs Mayor Jonathan Godes, City Council Member Ingrid Wussow, City Attorney Karl Hanlon, and City Manager Debra Figueroa for a bipartisan meeting in my D.C. office to discuss the South Bridge Project. Additionally, we discussed my I-70 Detour Act to direct the Department of Transportation to study improvements to alternate routes and mitigate the impacts of extended I-70 closures.

Democrats tried to hold a hearing on how Biden’s so-called American “Rescue” Plan has helped the economy. I called them out for their lies and brought up a little thing called inflation. Biden’s inflation is destroying the middle class! Take a look:

The Republican Study Committee published a budget for FY2023 to show the substantive policies that a conservative majority would support to improve our nation. Three of my bills were in the budget, including:

• Protecting American Energy Jobs Act: reduces gas prices, repeals Biden's job-killing mandates, ensures reliable and affordable energy supplies for future generations, and fosters economic growth and job creation in rural communities.
• 30x30 Termination Act: halts the largest federal land-grab in history and protects private property and private water rights.
• Protecting Our Kids from Harmful Research Act: stops the federal government from using vulnerable children suffering from gender dysphoria as lab rats and experimenting on them with dangerous drugs used in chemical castration procedures for sex offenders, irreversible hormone treatment, and life-altering sterilization procedures.

My bills are a priority for conservatives when we are in the majority, and I look forward to Republicans doing something Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have failed to do: pass meaningful legislation that provides results for the American people.

Fox News, Lauren Boebert pushes to classify fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction

"'This would enable the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Department of Defense to better coordinate their efforts and immediately publish the necessary administrative directive to eliminate the threat posed by this deadly substance,' Boebert said in an interview with Fox News Digital. 'We all know how serious the fentanyl crisis is,' she continued. 'Fentanyl is the number one cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45, and it’s not slowing down.' Boebert said fentanyl is 'absolutely a weapon of mass destruction' but noted her bill would not target legally prescribed fentanyl, pointing to the toxin botulinum’s WMD classification while still being legally used for Botox treatments."
