Dear John,

Each month, FRC's Center for Religious Liberty covers international religious freedom news -- exploring challenges that believers face abroad.

FRC's Center for Religious Liberty is delighted to announce the upcoming release of a new book entitled Heroic Faith: Hope Amid Global Persecution on July 20, 2022. Heroic Faith presents real-life stories of the challenges and dangers faced by today's faithful, courageous Christians in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Why write Heroic Faith?

Religious freedom is under attack across the world as never before, and Christians are at the epicenter of this crisis. Every day, we hear about violations of religious liberty occurring across the globe, and they are too often violent and deadly. Heroic Faith is a collection of incidents and insights--all based on true stories about our believing sisters and brothers.

Learn more about Heroic Faith's authors:

  • Lela Gilbert is an award-winning writer who has authored and co-authored more than sixty books, including Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians. Lela serves as FRC's Senior Fellow for Int'l Religious Freedom
  • Arielle Del Turco is the Assistant Director of the Center for Religious Liberty at Family Research Council, developing policy solutions and leading advocacy efforts on international religious freedom.
  • Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. Boykin was a founding member and former commander of the U.S. Army's Delta Force. During his military service, he commanded the Army's Green Berets and the Special Warfare Center and School. He also served as the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. He is FRC's Executive Vice President.

And here's what some influential readers have said about Heroic Faith:

"As global persecution of Christians surges and deadly international conflicts multiply, it is essential for us to be informed about the dangers faced by our courageous sisters and brothers around the world. Heroic Faith provides insights, information and inspiration to urgently act and pray on their behalf." - Frank Wolf, Former U.S. Congressman, 1981-2014, and namesake of the Frank R. Wolf International Religious Freedom Act of 2016.

"I've spent much of my political career working toward the advancement of religious freedom for all people, everywhere. Sadly, Religious freedom is under attack around the world. Heroic Faith details the harsh realities that far too many Christians face merely for practicing their faith. I pray that learning about their plight through this book will open your heart and challenge you to act. In order to truly make a difference regarding the monumental challenge of religious persecution, it will require all of us." - Samuel Brownback, Former Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom and former U.S. Senator and Governor of Kansas

"This important new book about the international persecution of Christians couldn't be better timed. Reliable reports say that some 360 million Christians live in places where they experience high levels of persecution and discrimination. Yet, at the same time, accounts of their courage, sacrifice and suffering are still not widely known, even among Christians. I think you'll be both inspired and prayerful as you encounter some of these faithful believers and their stories in the pages of Heroic Faith." - Nina Shea, Director, Hudson Institute Center for Religious Freedom

We hope you'll find our book insightful, informative, and inspiring. As always, we will continue to update you about our brothers and sisters around the world -- those who are not free to share in the blessing of religious freedom. We hope our book will encourage you to join us in prayer for them.

Heroic Faith can be pre-ordered at Barnes & Noble, Thriftbooks, Amazon, and other booksellers.
