John,

As we celebrate Pride Month, it’s easy to be a bit wary. After all, the Supreme Court has signaled that its sights are set on marriage equality.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Supreme Court affirmed in Obergefell v. Hodges that Americans could marry whomever they loved. It was a momentous day. I had signed an amicus brief to the court in support of marriage equality in the Obergefell case.

And John, I don’t intend to let them take us back. I’m fighting to reform the court, on behalf of all Americans. Taking away LGBTQ+ rights is unacceptable, and I’m pushing to enact a list of reforms so that we never get to the point where a right-wing court tries to take marriage equality away.

So right now, let’s celebrate each other in all our uniqueness and diversity. And let’s band together to protect one another.
