Hi friend,

Today is the first day of the Texas Republican Convention. We know the next few days will showcase the Texas GOP’s love of harmful conspiracy theories that scapegoat everyday Texans. I’m so angry that this is the party dominating our state government.

Clearly the only thing Texas Republicans learned from the January 6th insurrection is that there are no consequences for spreading anti-democratic propaganda. Throughout the convention, the Texas GOP will certainly continue to spread their anti-American Big Lie, paying no mind to its damage to our democracy. You can’t claim to both love our country and work to undermine its democratic processes.

Apart from outrageous conspiracies, this convention will be riddled with bigotry of all forms. As we know, current Republican “leadership” has been threatening unconscionable legislation attacking LGBTQIA+ children and their families.

The GOP’s agenda on education is just as worrisome. Their extremist goal is to entirely wipe out sex education from every level of our public schools, eliminate any form of diversity from the curriculum, and abolish the Texas Department of Education. Our schools and educators need our support -- not these regressive policies fueled by bigoted political agendas.

While some of the worst Republicans in our state will be taking the stage to spread hate and lies, one man is noticeably absent: Governor Greg Abbott. He’s seemingly so unpopular that his own party doesn’t want him to speak at their convention. Let’s show him and his cronies this November just how unpopular they are.

With every new low, the need for change becomes even more apparent. The great people of Texas deserve a government that works for them, not to stuff their own pockets. The work of Texas Democrats to protect all Texans is more important than ever.

With your help, we can fire Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton, and every other tyrannical Texas Republican -- electing real leaders that prioritize Texans. So, will you chip in $7 right now to help us ensure Texas a better future?

We can’t afford another four years of transphobic policies, slashes to education, voter-suppression bills, and reckless firearm laws. On November 8th, we can change the face of leadership in our state from the top to the bottom of the ballot.
