** Freedom Network Testifies in Little Hoover Commission Hearing
------------------------------------------------------------
Freedom Network USA was invited to testify at a public hearing hosted by the Little Hoover Commission in San Diego, California on November 21, 2019 to discuss labor trafficking in the California. The Little Hoover Commission is an independent state government oversight agency. Executive Director, Jean Bruggeman and Freedom Network USA member, Kay Buck of CAST joined human trafficking survivors and public policy professionals to discuss the state's effort in identifying and combating labor trafficking and exploitation.
"FNUSA commends the State of California for committing to this investigation and report on the status of California’s efforts to address labor trafficking. Such a comprehensive and intensive investigation into labor trafficking is unique in the US, and can provide a critical framework for other jurisdictions to follow."

** FNUSA Hosts First Housing Summit in
South Dakota
------------------------------------------------------------
Freedom Network USA hosted its first of four housing summits on November 5th in Sioux Falls, South Dakota ([link removed][UNIQID]) . Human trafficking and housing providers gathered from across the state to discuss challenges, share best practices, and better address the needs of the trafficking survivors they serve.
The Housing Training and Technical Assistance Project provides advocates dynamic and up-to-date training and resources on housing options for survivors of human trafficking. The training, tools, and resources offer information and guidance for advocates in accessing appropriate emergency, transitional, and long-term housing options for survivors. We will host four summits over the next six months in New York City, Upstate New York, New Orleans, and Los Angeles.
