Feelings are not a valid reason to ignore the laws of the state.

Jack –

This week, all three Otero County Commissioners refused to certify the results of our Primary Election because they don’t “feel in their heart” that the results are correct.

If these votes aren’t certified, all votes in the county would be thrown out. They would disenfranchise every single voter in Otero – a county that went 62% to Trump – because they don’t feel the voting machines are accurate.

Not on my watch – I'll always protect your vote. And if you break our laws, you will be held accountable.

I’m suing the Otero County Commissioners to demand they follow the law and certify the election. I fight for every single voter in this state because when New Mexicans have a voice in our government, our state just works better. Our next election is just a few months away. Will you chip in $20 right now to help fight back against the conspiracy theories and lawlessness trying to dismantle our democracy?

Here are the facts: All voting machines are tested for accuracy before every election. The machines are never connected to the internet. New Mexico does post-election canvasses and audits to make sure the results are accurate. There are pathways for relief and to get questions answered, but flouting our Constitution and nullifying the votes of a whole county are not it.

I like to think that the county commissioners who have sworn an oath to the Constitution will do the right thing. But I’m concerned that this idea could set a precedent and spread not only in NM, but across the country.

Join me in the fight to keep our elections safe from conspiracy theorists who would break the law rather than listen to the voters. Chip in $20 or whatever you can to show your support for free and fair elections. →
