Recent Wins for South Jersey

Dear John,

I’ve spent my entire career fighting for our towns and local economies. To that end, I want to share some recent wins for South Jersey, which will deliver jobs and improve our quality of life.

Protecting Our Communities

First, I’m announcing $7.3 million dollars in federal funding to protect our neighborhoods from hazardous waste and pollution. From Camden to Brooklawn, these investments will remove contamination from well water, clean up industrial sites, and protect our children from harmful chemicals, like the ones found in Mercer County. Read more about these grants here, here, and here.

Making Our Bridges Safer

Second, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that I helped pass is sending an additional $12.5 billion to states and local governments to rebuild our bridges. You and I both know this is long overdue. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, 502 bridges in New Jersey are in poor condition. This investment is going to change that and create jobs in South Jersey. The law has already created 264,000 jobs in New Jersey in the first six months after passing.

These projects are a big deal. They are going to change people’s lives and deliver resources to the local communities who need them. I look forward to seeing additional growth from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and will continue to make sure South Jersey gets its fair share.

Sincerely,

Donald Norcross
Member of Congress
