JUNE 2022

The false narrative among many employers that no degree equates to no skill has had a severe negative impact on half of today’s U.S. workforce—and we just announced how we’re working to tear down the “paper ceiling” that prevents those workers from earning wages that truly reflect their skillset. Also, we’ve launched new creative that uses music to connect families with nature and shows girls how STEM is everywhere, even behind the scenes at The Walking Dead. Read on for the latest!

Creating Economic Mobility
A New Multiyear Effort to Create Economic Mobility for 50% of U.S. Workers
Last week, we announced a new collaborative effort alongside Opportunity@Work, Ogilvy and a growing coalition of more than 20 corporate and nonprofit partners that will inspire employers to remove hiring barriers that block the majority of workers in the U.S. from earning higher wages in line with with their skills. The multiyear effort will focus on creating upward mobility for the more than 70 million workers in the U.S. who are Skilled Through Alternative Routes (STARs), such as community college, workforce training, bootcamps, certificate programs, military service, or on-the-job learning, rather than through a college or university bachelor’s degree.
