Giving Tuesday: Help vulnerable families today.

Dear Supporter,
If you fled violent gangs, rode dangerous trains, and walked for miles in search of safety, only to end up caged and separated from your family, you might wonder if America is still a place of hope and sanctuary.
But we still believe that America is that place — a beacon of light for those seeking refuge. And we think you do, too.

That's why today, on Giving Tuesday, we're asking you to stand with refugee and asylum-seeking families by making a generous gift to LIRS.
Please help us raise $50,000 today to help families, like Mrs. Valdez and her children. If she were to stay in El Salvador, her son would have been killed if he didn't join a violent gang.
What would you do? I can tell you what Mrs. Valdez did. She took her children and made the dangerous trip to America.
But it wasn't without cost. On the train, there was an accident and Mrs. Valdez's daughter lost some of her fingers. Her older brother wrapped her hand in his shirt, desperate to stop the bleeding.
They reached America and the little girl was taken to the hospital. And thanks to people like you, LIRS was there for them.
Because of our supporters, we put the family up in a hotel while the little girl received medical care. When she was released, we helped them to be reunited with their father.
