Today, the January 6 Committee will be hosting their third public hearing regarding the ongoing investigation into the insurrection that took place last year. The witness testimony and evidence continue to prove highly incriminating for former President Trump and his supporters. Even as those closest to Trump warned him against promoting the Big Lie because there was no evidence to support it, he continued – determined to mobilize a personal army of his supporters in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
People For and our team of experts at Right Wing Watch have been closely following the hearings to provide insight and analysis about the key players involved and the committee’s findings. And today, we’re proud to be partnering with our allies at Public Citizen and the Not Above the Law Coalition to provide members with another opportunity to hear from our experts about the latest developments presented by the committee.
While we expect several more hearings over the next several weeks, the evidence already provided by the committee is alarming and should concern anyone who cares about the future of our democracy. As those on the Far Right continue to breathlessly defend Trump and his egregious behavior, it’s vital that we speak out against their attempts to whitewash one of the greatest threats to our democracy in modern history.
