As a CIA officer, I watched firsthand as authoritarians eroded citizens’ rights and destroyed democracy abroad. I saw the chilling effects of extremism and the terror it wrought on people and families simply trying to live their lives.

Today, here at home, politically motivated violence is far too common, the rule of law and our elections are under attack, women in desperate situations are being criminalized, and too many families are struggling to keep up with inflation to put gas in their cars and food on their tables.

While most Americans are grappling with these issues, our voices are being gerrymandered to protect the status quo, and our right to vote is being stolen from us by extremists and powerful special interests in pursuit of their own power.

It feels like every election is more critical than the last, which is why I’m asking for your help to replace Mike Lee and stop the far-right from taking total control of America in the years ahead.

I’m committed to putting country before party, standing up to extremists, and remaining steadfast in defense of American democracy. If you’re with me, will you chip in to support my campaign and replace Mike Lee?

Mike Lee conspired with the Trump administration to overturn the 2020 election. He went directly into the Oval Office to offer un-American “strategies” to our then President in hopes of overriding the will of the people.

Senator Lee was also one of only two senators to vote against sanctions on Vladimir Putin, and he was the only American politician invited to Russia to openly discuss lifting existing sanctions on Putin’s brutal regime.

To further solidify his extreme, anti-democracy agenda, Mike Lee voted against the Violence Against Women Act, argued that a voting rights reform bill was “written by the devil himself,” and claimed that “fatherlessness” was to blame for the recent murdering of 19 children and two school teachers in Uvalde, Texas.

These are just some of the reasons I’m deeply troubled by what happens if we re-elect Sen. Lee and the far-right gains control of the Senate in 2022.
