The U.S. Supreme Court will release their decision in the West Virginia v. EPA case within the next two weeks.

This is a red alert moment for the environmental movement, Friend. The case could put key parts of the Clean Air Act at risk and could limit the EPA's authority to cut climate pollution from power plants. We are anticipating what could be the most environmentally devastating decision in decades.

With an imminent decision limiting EPA's options to cut climate pollution, there is heightened urgency for Congress to act on climate. And after months of campaigning -- we may finally have a real chance.

Quiet Senate negotiations are underway on climate investments now -- LCV is organizing a final push before Congress goes on recess. But the truth is, the scale and success of our campaign depends on support from our members. Today, we're asking for your help.

A group of donors has just agreed to TRIPLE MATCH every contribution through the end of the month. So we're asking you:

Friend — I want you to know that the next few weeks could be the most consequential weeks that the environmental movement has faced in years.

On top of the West Virginia v. EPA decision and negotiations over the reconciliation bill to cut families' energy costs and climate pollution in the Senate, the Biden-Harris administration is also preparing to get input over critical new environmental policies.

We're looking at the Biden-Harris administration working...
... to place new limits on soot.
... to cut climate pollution from power plants with whatever authority they have left.
... to reduce mercury and other air toxins.
... to reduce car and truck emissions.
... to rein in methane pollution from the oil and gas industry.
... to stop new drilling leases.
... and to hold companies accountable if they try to greenwash their emissions.

These are policies that could really move the needle on environmental justice, public health, AND climate change -- and I promise, our movement has a real shot at winning on each and every one of them.

But we need to act quickly. Not just with Congress. Not just with President Biden. Both.

The timing here is critical. Public comment periods and hearings are already set for some of these new policy decisions. But there's a serious problem: Fossil fuel industry groups are flooding the media and these hearings with their representatives, armed with anti-environment talking points. If that goes unanswered, it risks derailing the new policies before they reach the president's desk.

LCV is driving hundreds of thousands of comments demanding clean air and water from environmentalists like you to federal agencies in Washington, D.C. We're pressuring members of Congress on Capitol Hill. We're reaching them in their district offices. We're going all out, Friend.

But if we're forced to scale back our plans, corporate polluters could run the table. We need to make sure the federal government hears from the environmental movement in a MAJOR way over the next few months, or else we won't win these important fights.

Claim your LCV membership for just $5 right now to get the climate bill over the finish line.

Thank you, thank you, thank you — for everything that you do for the environment.

Onward,
