Hello Friends,
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, WRIC ABC 8 News reported:
Embattled Virginia dog breeding facility Envigo announces closure, more than 3,000 beagles in need of homes
You will remember on June 2, 2022, the Richmond-Times Dispatch reported that Envigo relinquished 446 beagles that authorities seized last month after finding them in “acute distress.” See article below:
Envigo gives up nearly 450 beagles seized by authorities
See SHARK's video regarding this:
Beagle Dog Abusers Busted!
One of many thousands of suffering victims of Envigo's animal cruelty
Legislators were prompted to pursue legislation for the beagles after SHARK's drone video footage of Envigo went viral. On March 8, 2022, the Virginia Mercury reported legislators passed five bills to help the beagles at Envigo:
Virginia lawmakers pass new regulations for controversial beagle breeding facility
Overcrowded cages of frantic, innocent dogs destined to be tortured and killed
SHARK's five years of drone work is finally getting these abused dogs some long-overdue help, but there are primates, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs remaining at Envigo and their fate is unclear at this time.
Call to Action:
Please contact the Virginia Senators leading this effort. Thank them for everything they have done to help the beagles and ask them "to ensure that in addition to the beagles, that all the remaining animals (primates, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs) are released to sanctuary or adopted into forever homes."

There are well-established procedures to test new drugs and products that don't require torturing and killing animals. These procedures are more accurate and safer for humans. Continuing to use animals for experimentation endangers the lives of humans and causes animals to die.
Please reach out to your legislators and request that nonanimal testing procedures replace the cruel and archaic animal testing procedures for the health and wellbeing of both humans and animals. Look up your elected officials here.
Our many trips to document this cruelty, as well as all of the other animal cruelty SHARK documents nationwide, are expensive. Your donations go to our investigations, not exorbitant executive salaries - SHARK doesn't have any executives and our President/Founder is a volunteer and SHARK donor.
SHARK can't continue without your support. Please donate here.
