Dear friend,

Without the support of those like you who are concerned by the massive risk posed by nuclear weapons, our work would simply not be possible. We are delighted that you receive our newsletter, but could you also consider making a gift to support the work of ICAN?

As you have been able to see, our work is far from finished. We still need to get to 50 ratifications to ensure nuclear weapons are made illegal under international law, and we believe we have a good chance to get this done in 2020. We have identified a list of target states that could sign or ratify the Treaty in the next year, and we now need to increase and strengthen our activities in these countries in order to ensure the Treaty enters into force.

This will require considerable resources, human and financial. We need $25,000 to immediately launch projects in these countries that can help them conclude their signature or ratification processes within 2020, and for this reason, we’re asking for your financial support to help us achieve this.

Thanks to you for any gift you can make to support ICAN’s work as we push ahead towards the 16 additional ratifications required to meet that target of 50. With perseverance, hard work and a bit of luck, we will hopefully be able to make sure nuclear weapons are banned by the end of 2020!

Sincerely yours,

Beatrice Fihn
