John,
Every year, June marks Pride Month – a month dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ
voices, celebrating their existence, and supporting their rights. While
this is a month to celebrate, we cannot forget to recognize and fight
against increasing attacks on the LGBTQ community.
From banning transgender athletes from playing on sports teams that match
their gender identity to removing any classroom discussion of sexual
orientation and gender identity, in state after state Republican
politicians are blatantly attacking the very existence and identity of
LGBTQ children.
Just this month, to enforce a transgender sports ban, Ohio House
Republicans passed a bill that would require a genital inspection of any
child thought to be transgender.

The only way we can defeat these anti-LGBTQ attacks is by building a huge,
vocal opposition so please tell the Biden Administration: Defend LGBTQ
rights by doing everything in your power to fight against Republicans’
hateful attacks.

The threat that extreme laws like this pose to the safety and well-being
of LGBTQ students, especially transgender youth, requires immediate action
from the Biden administration.
Whether it is through the Department of Health and Human Services, the
Department of Education, or the Office for Civil Rights, the Biden
administration must be proactive in fighting these hateful laws and
defending the LGBTQ community.
The truth is this: together, we can ensure our educational environments
are free of discrimination by pushing the Biden administration to take
action NOW.
Everyone has the right to live freely, safely, and without fear. It’s up
to us to stand in solidarity with LGBTQ students and keep Republican
politicians out of the classroom.

Thanks for taking action at this critical moment.
