FASB to provide update on CECL, more during Dec. 19 webcast [ [link removed] ]
The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) is hosting its semiannual webcast Dec. 19 to provide private companies and not-for-profit organizations with an update on its standard-setting activities. Of note on the agenda is an update on implementation efforts for its current expected credit loss (CECL) standard.
FedNow, consumer privacy on NAFCU Cyber and Payments Committee agenda [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU's Cybersecurity and Payments Committee today is set to hear an update on the Federal Reserve's FedNow Service from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's Tim Boike. The committee will also discuss the latest developments in data security and fintech legislation, and issues related to consumer privacy.
NAFCU to CUs: Share input on unauthorized mobile app transactions [ [link removed] ]
Following several questions from members on how to handle unauthorized use claims when a mobile payment app was used to facilitate a transaction, NAFCU's Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Teams are seeking feedback from credit unions on how they would like Regulation E error resolution responsibilities clarified.

The NCUA in November issued three prohibition orders and three prohibition notices, prohibiting individuals previously associated with credit unions from any future participation in the affairs of a federally insured financial institution.
