At the end of the month, we face our next FEC end-of-quarter filing deadline — the first one since Gabe won the New Mexico primary election and became the official Democratic nominee to take on right-wing Yvette Herrell in November.

Gabe put the GOP on notice by winning this primary and showing that NM-02 is ready for change. This district has been named a DCCC Red-to-Blue target as well as a toss-up race by Cook Political Report. MAGA extremist Herrell is vulnerable, and the GOP knows it.

As a result, Republicans are gearing up to defend this seat with all they’ve got, including two seven-figure ad buys reserved by the National Republican Congressional Committee and the Sentinal Action Fund PAC. That’s on top of $125 million in TV and radio ads already reserved by Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC, including $1.1 million set aside to specifically target voters in our race.

There’s no doubt: the GOP attack ads are coming for Gabe, and we need to make sure we’re prepared to fight back, set the record straight, and defeat Herrell at the ballot box. That’s why reaching tomorrow’s mid-month goal is so important.
