On January 6th, 2021, violent rioters stood outside the Capitol building, calling for the head of Vice President Mike Pence. And despite Pence's historically questionable judgment, he knew the truth: Trump lost the election. And while he defended our democracy, the insurrectionists, inspired by Trump, chanted, “Hang Mike Pence!”

And what was Trump’s response to these threats against his Vice President? “Mike Pence ‘deserves it.’”

These are not the words of a president. They are that of an authoritarian tyrant, a voice we mustn’t allow back into power at any capacity. Trump knew of the violence of that day as it was happening and still did nothing. Trump continued to stoke the flames of these treasonous attackers.
