Blake Lemoine, an engineer who has worked for Google for seven years, was placed on paid leave after publishing transcripts of conversations between him and LaMDA (language model for dialogue applications) discussing rights and personhood for AI.

The Supreme Court Police Parity Act of 2022 would grant the Marshal of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court Police the authority to protect any member of the immediate family of a Supreme Court just or any officer of the Court if the Marshal determines that such around-the-clock protection is necessary.
The bill passed in the Senate unanimously, and passed in the House yesterday on a 396-27 vote.
