The EPA has just proposed new lifetime health advisories (LHAs) for four of the infamous toxic “forever chemicals” known as PFAS.

The new LHAs are significantly lower than previous EPA standards. In fact, the advisories for PFOS and PFOA are near zero. This new guidance means that the EPA believes PFAS chemicals to be a greater danger to our health than previously thought.

The EPA is finally acknowledging just how dangerous these chemicals really are, but LHAs are non-enforceable and the agency is still allowing chemical companies to recklessly dump these toxic chemicals into our air and water.
