In celebration of National Beer Day, I am inviting you to vote for your favourite local pub in my Pub of the Year competition 2022.
Pubs are a vital part of our local economy and support a sense of community and pride of place. This competition is the chance to show your pubs how much they mean to you after a challenging two years.
I have also written to pub landlords in the constituency to ask them how their business is faring following the pandemic, and to ask what more I can do to help our local pubs.
As MP for Esher and Walton constituency, I want to help our local pubs in any way I can.
The government is backing our pubs with a 5% cut in the rate of duty on draught beer and cider, freezing alcohol duty for the second year in a row, and a 50% business rates discount for hospitality businesses up to a value of £110,000.
Voting opens today. The winner will be announced after voting ends on Monday 15 August 2022.
