Last night, Nevadans put their trust in me and gave us the opportunity to fight for a second term. Serving Nevada families as governor has been the honor and privilege of my lifetime. We also learned last night that my opponent will be a Trump-backed Republican.

Whether threatening to strip away Americans’ reproductive rights or working to make it harder to vote, Republicans across the country are trying to take us backward.

Meanwhile, my fellow Democratic governors and I are focused on the future. In Nevada, I expanded access to reproductive freedom, raised the minimum wage, and increased funding for public education – and we’re just getting started.

As Republican attacks on democracy and reproductive rights continue, Democratic governors like myself have become the very last line of defense. But Nevada has been rated one of the closest toss-up states in the country, so I’m emailing for your help.

The DGA is working tirelessly to support Democrats facing extremist opponents and flip Republican-led states blue. I’m not going to sugarcoat things, team: we’re facing some tough races this year.

Four states with Democratic governors have been rated as toss-ups by the Cook Political Report – including my race in Nevada – and we cannot afford to lose a single one.

Republicans have already dumped millions of dollars into races like mine, and without your support right now, we could very well fall short of our goal – and could lose the chance to flip red states blue.

And with Roe v. Wade on the verge of destruction, Democratic governors like me are the last line of defense against Republicans who want to take away reproductive rights.
