Dear John,

It's Giving Tuesday - and your inbox is overflowing with donation requests. We know that you can't give to every worthy cause. That's why we want to let you know how much we accomplished this year - and to ask for your ongoing support in the year ahead.

My top 10 highlights of 2019:
  1. Our book, A Global Security System: An Alternative to War, and its study guide, Study War No More, won the Educator's Challenge Award & the People's Choice Award from the Global Challenges Foundation.
  2. We initiated and led the successful campaign to divest the city of Charlottesville from fossil fuels and weapons.
  3. We expanded our international reach, with membership in 175 countries and 15 chapters in 7 countries and counting.
  4. Working with a team of volunteers, we published a series of 7 fact sheets on the social, ecological, and economic reasons for abolishing war.
  5. Over 100 students enrolled in our War Abolition 101 online course.
  6. We published a Peace Almanac, a 365-day calendar highlighting important successes and milestones in the peace movement.
  7. We published a 15-page abridged version of our book, and translated it into 5 languages.
  8. We hosted our 4th annual global conference, #NoWar2019 in Limerick, which brought together experts and activists from more than 10 countries.
  9. We launched a monthly podcast series, featuring the voices of activists, artists, and grassroots organizers from around the world.
  10. Since 2017, we have put up billboards and ads in 12 cities, drawing attention to issues of war and militarism, most prominently with our message "3% of U.S. military spending could end starvation on earth."

Help us maintain this momentum in 2020 and beyond! Make your #GivingTuesday gift - and get a free copy of our e-book, today only. Plus, make your gift recurring for $9+/month and get a t-shirt, blue scarf, or book of your choice, AND a special invite to a #GivingTuesday chat with WBW Co-Founder David Swanson tonight at 8pm Eastern.

What's next? We're busy forming an international coalition to organize #NoWar2020 from May 26-31 in Ottawa, our 5th annual global convergence, which is timed with CANSEC, Canada’s biggest weapons expo. We're planning a series of online courses throughout 2020, including a new course dedicated to exploring war's carbon bootprint, and a new course debunking the myths of WWII. Plus, we're forming more chapters around the globe, working to divest their cities from the war machine and close down polluting military bases in their communities.

As a global, grassroots network, we rely on the support of folks like YOU to continue doing this vital work. Help us win more victories, divest more cities, close down bases, and organize more World BEYOND War chapters, as we advocate for a just and sustainable peace.
