** More GP surgery appointments
------------------------------------------------------------
Locally we have experienced too many delays waiting to see a doctor. I have highlighted this and worked with the local Clinical Commissioning Group to tackle specific issues, most notably faced by residents in Bradford on Avon and Melksham. I have worked with the Secretary of State for Health to do more to support market towns and surrounding villages with the challenges that they face with GP access.
My campaigning has worked – there will be 50 million more GP surgery appointments under a Conservative majority government. This will be via 6,000 more GPs & thousands more nurses, physiotherapists & pharmacists by 2024- 25.
The NHS is a priority for me - it is a life saver and should always remain free at the point of use and I do want you to know that I shall always fight for more investment into our health service, to not only safeguard it but also ensure we continue to improve the level of service.
In Wiltshire we have some amazing community hospitals and I has been working with the local Clinical Commissioning Group and government to preserve and protect these hospitals as well as work on plans to develop/ upgrade them. I recently brought the Health Secretary of State to the constituency, so he could see why we need more investment here.
