Dear John, |
In just a few more hours, the world will wake up to #GivingTuesday. It's going to be a great day. And for children of prisoners, it could be one of the most important days of the year. |
You see, for up to 12,000 prisoners' kids, what happens today, on #GivingTuesday, will determine whether they get Christmas this year! |
Will you help Angel Tree give the Christmas every child deserves to these innocent children today? |
Nothing says Christmas like a gift under the Christmas tree. But we know Christmas isn't just about the gifts. As Christmas gets closer, so many prisoners’ kids can't help asking themselves, Does my Mommy or Daddy still love me? Do they even remember me anymore? |
Their lonely lives feel even lonelier. The pain of being separated from the parent they love becomes intense. For all too many, there will be nothing under the tree…nothing to remind them that someone loves them and wishes desperately they could be with them on Christmas. |
But that's not the way it has to be. |
Today, on #GivingTuesday, you can join the movement that aims to deliver an Angel Tree Christmas to 12,000 children of prisoners from all across the country. |
Between now and midnight tonight, you can make it possible to give them a Christmas they will remember for the rest of their lives. |
|
Your Gift Will Be Doubled |
Don't let the children be forgotten |
An Angel Tree Christmas is a Christmas like no other. It includes: |
• |
A Christmas gift chosen especially for each child. |
• |
A note from the child's incarcerated parent to show them they have not been forgotten and remind them they are loved. |
• |
A chance to hear the story of Jesus' birth—He was the greatest gift ever given! |
• |
The opportunity to receive a big, beautiful, full-text children's Bible—in the family's choice of English or Spanish. |
|
But there's more. Thanks to a special #GivingTuesday Matching Grant, whatever you give today to help give Christmas to the children of prisoners will be doubled dollar for dollar—up to $50,000. |
