There was one part of the ongoing Jan. 6 hearings that surprised me. Not the revelation that Rudy Giuliani was giving Donald Trump drunken advice in the White House on Election Night. Nor that conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell was firmly on Giuliani’s “Team Crazy.”

What did surprise me is that apparently there was a “Team Normal” in the Trump White House, a team led by campaign manager Bill Stepien that included luminaries like Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Attorney General Bill Barr. They considered themselves normal because they weren’t acting like Giuliani. But “Team Normal” was anything but that.
