Dear Global Greens,

I AM WRITING TO YOU FROM SANTIAGO, CHILE. My plan was to attend COP25.
However, when the venue (and the world's attention) shifted to Madrid, I
decided not to change my plans. Instead, I'M HERE TO EMBODY THE GLOBAL
GREENS DUAL COMMITMENT TO CLIMATE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE and to witness and
join this nation’s movement for a Just Transition.

The Chilean Greens, Partido Ecologista Verde [1], are leading with
integrity and courage to undertake the structural reforms needed to fix the
profound inequalities and economic precarity faced by many Chileans.

I AM HERE IN SOLIDARITY AND TO SAY "YOU ARE NOT ALONE!"

What I see in Chile is what I see globally: inequality combined with an
empowered, interconnected community is giving rise to a wave of social and
climate justice demands. And our Green parties are providing the political
response to these movements.

On the occasion of COP25, Greens call for governments to listen to the
people and to the science. To increase national climate ambition and
actions and to create a Just Transition to a sustainable and prosperous
future for everyone.

COP25 begins today the 2nd December and will finish on the 13th December.
The Global Greens have strong delegates there working on our behalf. Meet
some of them below and feel free to follow them on social media and send
messages of support as they work to get the strongest outcomes possible!

With hope and in solidarity.

KELI YEN

Global Greens Convenor

MY EXPECTATIONS FROM COP25
For COP25, our deep desire is to hope that once again calls and campaigns
focused on the climate emergency of the conscious youth of the whole world
can be heard by the Heads of State of the major polluting countries. We
wish to see the polluting countries assuming all their responsibilities,
first financially, and then affirm their commitments to significantly
reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Finally, we hope for a great
awareness of all the actors of the climate emergency to move in the right
direction.

CLIMATE EXPERTISE
Former Green Member of the European Parliament from the Spanish party EQUO,
his work is focused on a just and ecological transition. He has been
leading the reform of the European Electric Market for the Greens and has
followed COP's process since COP21 in Paris. A civil engineer and urban

MY EXPECTATIONS FROM COP25
"With the current commitments, the temperature could raise more than 3
degrees, far from the Paris Agreement goal (maximum 1.5 degrees). We need
all the countries to have higher ambition and to commit with climate goals
that allow ecological and social justice for present and next generations."
