Well John, Donald Trump has something to say.
Actually, he has a lot of things to say – 12 pages worth!
The rest of the GOP is bending over backwards to try to claim that no one is interested in the January 6th Committee hearings. But we know that’s false for two reasons.
First → according to Nielsen ratings, a staggering 20 MILLION people tuned in to watch the first hearing.
Second → we know one person who is EXTREMELY interested in the hearings. So interested, in fact, that he released a 12-page statement in response.
Trump, whose press releases used to be limited to 280 characters so they could fit in a tweet (before he was banned from Twitter for inciting a violent insurrection) apparently had more to say than his thumbs could type on his own bootleg social media knockoff platform, so he went the old fashioned route.
His statement has nearly 36,000 characters – that’s the equivalent of a 128-tweet thread!
But aimless bloviating and self-centered complaining by itself isn’t enough to earn someone a coveted spot in a Worst Behavior Watch email. No, the reason we’re emailing you about this statement is that in those 12 pages, Trump is still doubling down on the very same lies that led to the January 6th insurrection.
As his former campaign manager, former attorney general, and even his daughter are all publicly turning against him, Trump is trying to paint himself as the victim by continuing his Big Lie.
