John,
As World Refugee Day approaches, we’re taking time to reflect on the U.S. response to welcoming refugees. Looking at the resettlement numbers today, President Biden and lawmakers have fallen short. But what can the administration do to improve and how can you get involved?
On
Friday, June 17th, w the (IRAP) and World Relief to discuss how the Biden administration can address the low numbers of refugees entering the United States and how all of us can build communities that welcome our newest neighbors.
The United States welcomed only 1,898 refugees in May and is on track to resettle just 18,961 refugees this entire fiscal year. These statistics fall immensely short of the annual ceiling of 125,000 refugees the Biden administration set at the start of the
year. RSVP for this conversation today.
This is your opportunity to make sure your voice is a part of the conversation. There is so much work that needs to be done to welcome more refugees and your participation is so important. Together, we can continue to push the Biden administration to uphold American values of democracy and opportunity for
all.
Thanks, Katie Lutz Digital Production Manager National Immigration Forum
