More clean energy is in our future Indivisibles,
With all of the recent news, we wanted to make sure you saw something incredible happened last week -- and it’s all thanks to you. Last week, President Biden announced that he would invoke the Defense Production Act (DPA) to pave the way for higher domestic production of clean energy technologies like solar, building insulation, heat pumps, fuel cells, and power grid infrastructure (like transformers).
This is a massive win!!! (Here’s Leah talking about just how big of a victory it is!)
Getting Biden to invoke the DPA was the foundation of our Let’s Go Joe climate goals and on the Congressional Progressive Caucus’ list of priorities. By achieving this goal, we move our country closer to a clean energy future while creating good jobs for people across the country. This action is a positive step towards achieving Biden’s goal to cut our carbon emissions in half by 2030.
You did this!
📞 Indivisibles called their representatives, their senators, and the White House. 📱 Indivisibles sent tweets and posted on Facebook. 📰 Indivisibles made Soapboxx videos and sent letters to the editor. 👩💻 Indivisibles talked to their friends and families about why climate is so important.
Whenever we asked for more, Indivisibles answered the call and got to work. By the time Biden made his announcement, Indivisibles had called for action more than 22,000 times through social media, calls, emails, letters, and videos. That is truly incredible and we, and the planet, thank you.
We wanted to take this moment specifically to celebrate this win with you! You’ve earned it! If you’re feeling festive, click here to tweet a thank you to the White House for invoking the DPA on climate!
There is so much more work to come. Let’s Go Joe is still moving forward calling for executive actions on healthcare and student debt. We have our work cut out for us matching the ideals of this country with its reality. But, let’s enjoy this moment. We couldn’t have done it without one another.
Together, we are Indivisible.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
