This is a significant day for the 2nd Amendment. The Supreme Court of the United States heard oral arguments in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. City of New York, challenging the City’s nearly complete ban on transportation of firearms. Two amicus briefs were filed in this case on behalf of Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners Foundation, and The Heller Foundation. Gun Owners of California joined the California Rifle and Pistol Association in filing another. As we have reported, this case could have a far-reaching impact on gun owners, in that a positive ruling can open the door to overturn many gun control laws currently on the books. Obviously, we cannot predict what the court will do based upon the questions asked during arguments, so we must be content to wait until a final decision is reached.
Also, if there is any question out there that gun control is effective, take a look at what is happening in Mexico. Imagine being snatched from the hospital by armed gunmen – read below as to the horror that happened next. But in some good news, an awful lot of firearms flew off the shelves on Black Friday, according to FBI checks. Hopefully one may find it’s way under your tree!
