The work I’m doing to protect and preserve our environment.
Whether it’s at the beach or at one of California’s national parks, I hope you find some time to enjoy the outdoors this summer.

My family loves visiting our country’s state and national parks. Earlier this year, my son and I visited Cuyahoga National Park in Ohio and the Indiana Dunes National Park. Just a few hours from our home in Irvine, we also love visiting Joshua Tree National Park here in California. I’m proud to have led legislation to fund the Every Kid Outdoors program, which grants fourth graders and their families free access to our national parks.
As I enjoy time outside with my kids, I’ll be keeping in mind the work we have to do to protect our natural resources and ensure generations to come can enjoy the same parks, lakes, and beaches that our families do today. That’s why in Congress I’m fighting to:
- Hold Big Oil companies accountable–requiring that they clean up after themselves
- Pass legislation that would help reduce the harm caused by wildfires
- Reduce our dependence of fossil fuel by incentivizing clean energy
Thanks for being a part of Team Porter and our efforts to protect the environment and hold polluters accountable.
