John,
Last week, the House January 6 Select Committee kicked off public hearings into the events surrounding the white supremacist-led insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in 2021.
Among the revelations that have already come out of these hearings is this: Multiple Republican members of Congress sought presidential pardons from Trump in the days after 1/6 for their involvement in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
We don't know all of their names yet. But we do know the names of the 147 Republican members of Congress who voted to overturn the results of the election.1
And we know our work to elect champions of democracy has never been more urgent.
But even as we learn more about the full extent of the events leading up to January 6th, some of the same big-money groups backing Republican insurrectionists are spending millions to try and take out WFP champions in key races across the country in 2022. You can help fight back by making a contribution to the Working Families Majority Fund — every grassroots donation helps us reach and inform more voters and defend our progressive champions in Congress against these attacks.

Our demands on January 6, 2021 remain our demands today.
Every single person who orchestrated and participated in this organized effort to subvert democracy and overturn the will of the people must be held fully accountable — including at the ballot box.
What was at stake 524 days ago — and what has continued to be at stake every day since in elections, in the courts, and in the halls of power — is the question of whether we actually have majority rule in this country.
White nationalists know they cannot win a majority for their policies. Over the last two years, they have only ramped up their efforts to subvert the popular will, including through intimidation and violence.
Over the next few months, we must do everything in our power to defend our champions in Congress, block anyone who tries to silence our voices from ever holding elected office again, and elect more progressive leaders to replace them.
Every grassroots contribution to the Working Families Majority Fund helps shore up our progressive champions in Congress and elect new leaders who will stand with working people.
History has taught us that democracy is never a guarantee. It is a choice we make. And times like these continue to call on us to defend it.
In solidarity,
All of us at the Working Families Party
