The November general election is less than five months away and what happens will have a huge impact on the future of our state. Voters will choose a new governor and who they elect will determine how (and if) our state continues to address important issues including climate change.
This year is the first time that Oregon has had an open governor’s race in over 20 years, making this the most critical race for governor in a generation.
OLCV endorsed former House Speaker Tina Kotek in the primary and she won! But Tina faces a tough race in the general – going up against a wealthy timber heiress who is raking in huge donations from Big Oil and other corporate polluters, and a Republican who helped lead the 2020 walkouts to stop landmark climate legislation from passing.

In 2015 she was named OLCV’s Defender of the Year, she prevented rollbacks to Clean Fuels in 2017, and stood up for Clean Energy Jobs in 2019 and 2020. She is a proven leader who will ensure that our state continues to make progress toward a just transition to a clean energy future.
