I’m honored to support Maxwell because he fights from the heart.
As Organizing Director at March for Our Lives after the tragedy in Parkland, Maxwell became a leader in the national fight to end gun violence. He led an ambitious voter turnout program that helped drive a record number of young people to the polls.
He helped lead the ACLU of Florida’s fight to win Amendment 4, which restored voting rights to over 1.6 million Floridians who had previous felony convictions. He also worked at the ACLU to help win President Biden’s support for abolishing the Hyde Amendment, legislation that has limited abortion access for those with low incomes.
After the death of George Floyd sparked a national reckoning and call for racial justice, Maxwell led Black Lives Matter protests in his hometown of Orlando — even after being beaten by cops, tear-gassed, and jailed for those efforts.
Maxwell has proven that he’ll fight for — and alongside — the people who most need a government that works for them. He’s a champion for working families, not whoever is willing to cut the largest campaign check.
So of course he’s being targeted by special interests, Breitbart, and the NRA. We need to help him fight back so he can deliver change in Washington.
