We have waited to comment on last week's primary results, as there are still a great many votes still to be counted in San Diego and throughout our district.
But after last night’s most recent update it does not appear that we will close the gap enough to proceed on to the general election and face Democrat Mike Levin.
Of course, things can always change, but I want to be realistic about our chances - and admit that we have likely fallen a bit short.
I cannot THANK YOU enough for your support! When we started this campaign, we started on the theme of No Excuses, and that still holds true today.
So my only comment is to say that I'm incredibly thankful and humbled by the tens of thousands of voters, supporters, donors, and volunteers who put their faith in me and voted to make a real change in Congress.
Brian Maryott and I fought each other hard, and things got a bit testy, I'll admit. But now is the time to move forward and secure a win in November.
We must unite behind our nominee and focus all efforts, not on bickering, but on kicking liberals like Mike Levin out of office and firing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.
It does appear that Maryott will have enough votes to advance, and I wish him well and trust that he will be a good representative of our conservative values in Congress. He has my full support in November.
I'm asking all of my supporters to do the same. Let's unite for a big win in November.
