Angela Casas, a sophomore at Multicultural Arts High School is this year’s winner of the Congressional Art Competition in my district. Her piece “Paint in Sounds” is now getting shipped to my DC office.
Her artwork was inspiring, and I’m glad to see her love for Little Village, and the culture of our shared Latino and Mexican immigrant community. Every time I walk from my office to the floor of the House of Representatives to vote for the next year, I will be proud to see Angela’s work displayed in the halls of the United States Capitol.
I am always impressed to see the talent of young students in our community, and I encourage all participants to keep growing as artists and to participate again next year. Her artwork will be displayed in the Capitol until June of 2023 alongside winning pieces from other districts from all across the country.
Congratulations Angela!
