According to a recent Politico report, here are Kevin McCarthy’s so-called “Commitment to America” task force’s legislative priorities, should the far-right take over the House this November:
- Revive the Keystone XL pipeline project (President Biden ended work on the pipeline on his first day in office to mitigate numerous climate risks)
- Build the wall along the Mexico-US border (Trump’s vanity project meant to demonize migrants seeking asylum)
- Establish a parental bill of rights (based on Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay Bill” that takes direct aim at LGBTQ+ children)
Team, I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: MAGA Republicans are not interested in solutions.
Instead of focusing on fighting climate change, protecting migrants and the LGBTQ+ community, they choose to fight culture wars and further divide the American people.
Democrats, on the other hand, are solely focused on delivering to the American people. The Democratic majority is not interested in fighting culture wars, we are dedicated to finding solutions and moving forward. Today, I am reaching out because it is within our power to stop the far-right from implementing their so-called “Commitment to America” and I hope that you will join me in this fight.
