Hi there -
This past week, I had the privilege of returning to my hometown of Orlando, Florida, for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, which was the largest USA Games in history! It was amazing and heart-warming seeing thousands of athletes from across the United States and the Caribbean coming together to #ShineAsOne – especially after so many events had to be canceled or postponed throughout the past two years.
It takes a village to put together Special Olympics events. And it would not happen without our hardworking staff, coaches, parents, and volunteers! Though I might be biased, there was one volunteer in particular that I was extra proud of, My mom, Shirley!
Working at Special Olympics, I have seen athletes across the globe getting their moment to shine and show the world all they can do without fear of discrimination. And getting to share that with my mom last week was incredible; here’s what she had to say about her time volunteering at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games:
To all of our amazing volunteers, you make a difference and are worth celebrating. We can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work to make Special Olympics athletes feel like the champions they are.
Don’t you think that deserves a little love? In honor of over 10,000 dedicated volunteers who made the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games possible, send them a quick THANK YOU by clicking below:
You’re the best,
Megan Wolf
