My political journey began 7 years ago in June of 2015, when my 22 year old daughter, Shalynne, died at the hands of our nation’s broken, profit-driven healthcare system. She wasn’t given the appropriate care at a local ER, all because she couldn’t provide adequate proof of health insurance.

I promised Shalynne before she died that it would not be in vain, and I’ve been fighting in the trenches of the political revolution ever since.
Now, today, I’m asking the voters of Nevada’s new First District for their vote so I can continue to make good on my promise to Shalynne from the Halls of Congress.
I know I can’t save my daughter, but I also know that her death wasn’t just a simple, one-off tragedy, as tens of thousands of other people in the US suffer the same fate she did every single year—all due to a lack of healthcare.
