Dear Friends,
Crime is on the rise. This is not a new occurrence, but the concern for people trying to keep their families safe is growing increasingly more urgent as soft-on-crime District Attorneys in major cities across the country refuse to prosecute crimes. Enabling criminals and coddling them is not compassionate reform. It is dangerous and it needs to stop.
Just last week, progressive San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was recalled because his bad leadership, including his refusal to prosecute people for dealing fentanyl, sent the city into a whirlwind of drugs and crime.
We're seeing horror stories come out from victims who didn't get the justice they deserved because leadership failed them.
Friends, Tarrant County must remain tough on crime.
I am grateful for the service and the support of our own outgoing District Attorney Sharen Wilson who took a no-nonsense approach to crime. As your County Judge, I will work with our next DA Phil Sorrells to keep our citizens safe, and I will fully fund and support our Sheriff's Office.
