Action
We hosted a self-managed abortion training party in Washington, D.C., training a dozen people on the state of abortion access, the protocol for self-managed abortion with misoprostol, and the risks around criminalization. We were so excited to host this first in-person training since the start of the pandemic and look forward to more (safe) face-to-face actions!
Our executive director and deputy director co-authored and essay set to appear in the forthcoming e-book: We Organize to Change Everything Fighting for Abortion Access and Reproductive Justice.
As an organization, we endorsed Rep. Nikema William’s resolution opposing the criminalization of essential health care and opposing the criminalization of pregnancy outcomes. Plus, that resolution has now been introduced to the Senate by Senators Duckworth and Murray.
We also joined 40 organizations, coalitions, and clinics in a coordinated reproductive, rights, health, and justice statement underscoring the need to address the structural inequalities that hold us back and amplifying the call to, “Stop defending the filibuster in our name.”
Erin attended the Center for Countering Digital Hate Global Summit, and is currently co-facilitated a closed session about tech companies suppressing abortion information online at Rights Con with Women on Web and Women’s First Digital. Stay tuned for more to come!

On Our Blog
Erin chronicled our experience with Heartbeat International, which operates a chain of anti-abortion fake clinics, after they sent a letter demanding we curtail our work. (Spoiler alert: we did not.)
Audrey published a new installment of the Activist Interview series, speaking to Ke’asia Brown, Youth Advocacy Fellow with Jane’s Due Process.
Tenaja covered the ‘Pro-Life’ Men’s Conference put on by Care Net, which runs a chain of fake clinics. They also spoke to activist Kristen Strezo, City Councilor-At-Large for Somerville City on the amazing work banning anti-abortion fake clinics in the city.
Reproaction in the News
Erin was quoted in multiple news pieces. First, she appeared in Vice discussing how the risks of self-managed abortion are not medical, but rather legal and the importance of keeping one’s digital privacy. Then she quoted in Mother Jones talking about how social media platforms continuously remove posts about self-managed abortion and the dangerous consequences of the practice. She spoke about the increasing threat of digital searches being used against people who are seeking abortion to CSO. And finally she was quoted in The Guardian’s piece on how Google is misdirecting searchers to crisis pregnancy centers rather than their sought after abortion clinics.
She also spoke with Jezebel on two pieces: one on the history of violence in the anti-abortion movement their long-standing pattern of dangerous protest tactics; the second on the problematic group Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights.
In the wake of the leaked opinion draft pointing to the overturning of Roe, Erin authored an op-ed on Medium about how abortion is unstoppable.
Pamela Merritt, Reproaction’s co-founder, was featured in an AP News piece which called Reproaction “an unabashedly loud and liberal advocacy organization.” We agree!
